Wow, I don't remember remastering an iso back in the 8.04 time frame. I think there is one posted somewhere and referenced in the wiki, but I'm fairly sure one of the other users created it. I'll look into PPA. Caveats on the current .deb packages - I didn't bother with the md5sum list for all of the installed files - Xastir gets installed in /usr/local (same as installing from source) rather than /usr I would like to change it so that it installs in /usr (same as older binary), but I have a question on that. I was able to make a deb that would install to /usr, but when Xastir launched, it created a config file in the .xastir directory that still pointed to /usr/local. Given the original build had been installed to usr/local, it "remembered" that. So I think I am going to have to change things so that the original "make install" goes into /usr when I build from source. If anyone knows of a shortcut there, let me know. Work and kids are draining too much precious energy, but I should have the debs posted this evening.
