Are you using libcurl? I ran into a problem with older libcurl
where longer URL's weren't being handled properly. Upgrade to a
much newer version of libcurl or switch to compiling Xastir with
wget support instead. That might solve your problem.
You could look at the map_1277295833.gif file above with "xv" or
something... I suspect it's a text file with an error message in
it, caused by the URL getting chopped by libcurl.
