I'm not real particular as long as it has the newest OSM updates in it. I currently play around with an Ubuntu version

An ISO...  I assume you mean an ISO-9660 bootable image containing
Xastir?  What OS are you looking for?

Some of the Xastir users do put out images or Xastir binaries for
various OS'es.  More specifics please.
