So what's in config.log???
I was able to follow the howto: Ubuntu 10.04 successfully on my
Ubuntustudio system. I tend to use some of the meta-packages to make sure
the entire build environment is there. Try this - if the pieces are
already there, it won't hurt, but it may pull in the missing piece or two:
`sudo apt-get install build-essential make automake`
