Having let the smoke out of the igate's computer... I needed other things to explore. I started on Weather Alerts and Fire Weather Warnings for AU. http://wxsvr.aprs.net.au/implementation-new.html says that the client side stuff needs sorting out.
I've started with the (rural) shape files and written some dbfawk files for them. http://wxsvr.aprs.net.au/shapefiles-new.html (anyone looking for the coastal waters files, the links are broken) Now that I have the areas displayed on the map, what else needs to happen when a weather alert message comes in, so that the message http://wxsvr.aprs.net.au/protocol-new.html is converted into an area on the map which has a different colour? There aren't any current warnings for my area, so I can't see if nothing else needs to be done!
