Am just getting started with Xastir and am interested in connecting it to a Postgis enable Postgresql DB. So I am working to install libraries and the like to compile Xastir from my Fedora 20 system.
Instructions provided on this page <http://xastir.org/index.php/HowTo:Fedora> would have me install http://download.osgeo.org/proj/proj-4.8.0.tar.gz. The most recent version of this is proj-4.9.1.tar.gz. Is this something I can take advantage of or is it incompatible with the latest version and I should stick with what I'm being told?
