What is the callsign-SSID of your xastir instance? If it is X4XTT (no
-SSID), then that would be the problem. The APRS-IS will not forward
packets to a station if the packet appears to have originated from that
station.
Also, for the m/800 to work, you need to beacon a position from xastir.
If we knew what the callsign-SSID is of the xastir instance, we could
check that from here.

PS. Every APRS instance must have a unique callsign-SSID if there's the
remotest chance that they'll execute concurrently. Otherwise, strange
(and hard to debug) things will happen.

Okay I will try to give my exact details here and see if anybody has
any additional insights.
I'm running windows 7 on HP computer with weatherdisplay software
installed. No firewalls coming or going. Weatherdisplay is supposed
to be sending data to rotate.aprs.net on port 14580 every 5 minutes.
Apparently it is as findu is showing the data on the raw data page as
well as the weather graphs, etc. The data findu is seeing is
"K4XTT>APRS,TCPIP*,qAC,SEVENTH:@221850z3836.48N/07847.17W_044/003g005t067r000p000P000b09780h69.WD
190"
If I'm seeing correctly (sorry about the text format change here, it
happens when I pasted the data) it's come from "SEVENTH" [whatever
that is] and has position and weather data in it. I believe the
underscore indicates weather. I don't right now what qaC is exactly
but I see it alot with other weather data from other users.
I'm running Xastir on Ubuntu Bionic-18+ with compiled source form
git. Configure Internet tab is set up as; "Host second.aprs.net"
"Port 14580 [thanks Curt]"
Passcode "mypasscode generated with callpass" "Filter Parms. m/800"
Comment: Core INET Servers" with allow transmitting, Activate on
Startup And REconnect all enabled.
No FireWall setup on the Ubuntu box or the router until this all works
as it should.
So again I don't see what the problem is. Still not showing weather
on the xastir map.
I think that my lack on knowledge has got me in this dither and it's
driving me crazy.
So if anybody wants to help I would appreciate it. I do not know the
difference between what "firenet is, it's ports and IP's" and the
APRS-IS mechanisms.
I have not had this problem previously with APRS and WeatheDisplay,
several years ago and am now getting back into it.

If your weather station software is connecting to CWOP-2, you won't
see it on an APRS-IS feed, no matter what filter you set. I believe
if you connect to firenet.us, you'll get the CWOP* stations, but I'm
not sure about that. Or you can connect to a CWOP server (not
recommended) but be aware that they don't support filtering and
you'll be asking for a full feed of all CWOP stations on the planet
(unless we've got some weather stations on the moon or Mars that I
haven't heard about, but I don't see our lat/lon-based coordinate
system handling other spheroids).
I'm not sure how you're seeing it on findu.com, unless it is drawing
from firenet and/or CWOP.

Don't know what to think. My weather stream is getting into the
aprs net stream as viewed on findu, but is not showing up at all on
my map in Xastir. Here's what is supposedly going out:
K4XTT>APRS,TCPIP*,qAC,CWOP-2:@172110z3836.00N/07846.00W_196/002g007t081r000p039P038b09677h68.WD
190
Is there anybody with ideas as to why it is not showing up on the
map, and I have my call and verification number correctly entered.
I'm thinking that I'm not getting in the stream from aprs servers.
No filters set on the server interface and using "second.aprs.net
10152"
What should I be looking for, and thanks in advance
