I’ve just submitted the update for the FreeBSD port of Xastir 2.1.4. This update removes GDAL, any mention of ImageMagick and makes ports Shapelib a dependency (rather than optional).
It compiles by default using gcc, but if GraphicsMagic is deselected in ‘make config’ then it will compile using clang. Unfortunately I can’t make it compile just with clang as the FreeBSD GraphicsMagick package has OpenMP support via gomp and gcc8 enabled by default. https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=239217 Big thanks to Tom, Curt and everyone else for the updates, and releasing 2.1.4 so quick with the GraphicsMagick fix.
