now we're getting there. a minor is the use of the hardcoded
special:// folder to get the addon's data.
use addon.getAddonInfo('path') for the install path and
addon.getAddonInfo('profile') for the data path.
the latter path can change, in fact it will change in frodo when i
move addons to the userdata folder (to allow different addons for
different profiles).
