As it is at the moment the addon shows up under Addons-Video (which I have been
told is important for App Remote users; the iphone app I think). Without the
<provides> the addon showed up under Programs.

as far as i know <provides>video</provides> in addon.xml is useless when you
have a <extension point="xbmc.python.script">
or can you prove it actually works somewhere?
