Eric's pixmaps are useful, as they can still be used in currrent XBoard.
Especially
because of the existence of projects like this I think we should not give
up support for pixmaps in future versions.
But that's about all we should do. I don't think it would be a good idea
(or even
doable) to include all Chess graphics developed in formats that XBoard or
WinBoard can use with any distribution. I even have doubts about the
feasibility
to distribute a list of all compatible Chess pixmaps or true-type fonts with
XBoard / WinBoard. Just like we do not distribute lists of WB-compatible
engines.

know if they would be interesting given the changes being made to xboard
