Just to let you know, I'm back to working on this issue for xboard.
Thanks to the help of Arun and Tim, I have something able to get the width and notifications of width changes. So, I intend to auto-update the ICS width as needed, just like with winboard, and then implement a wrap function.
It may be a few days before I'm happy with the results-- I'm a Windows programmer, so many of the requirements to make this functional are new to me.
