how about running "indent -gnu" across all source files and then add a pre-commit git hook to make sure that it stays that way?
Well, I don't have that much confidence in automatic formatting, although I admit the current code styleis a mess. Perhaps we should try it first in a separate branch, to see if we like it,or if it has unexpected drawbacks. In any case I don't think it wise to start unnecessary (cosmetic) large-scale changes close before a new release.
