If you are doing a release it would be good to
change autogen.sh into
aclocal -I m4\
&& autoheader \
&& automake --add-missing \
&& autoconf
(note the addition -I m4 to aclocal).
This is necessary for autoconf to find the bundled
gettext macros.
(this fixes wat was called the 0.17 vs 0.18 issue, an issue
that does not exist really...)
