What a shame. Classic v. skaters. It just shouldn't come down to this.
Are we dealing with a case of testosterone poisoning here? Or is the rude
behavior of the skiers due to a genuine lack of facilities for them to
exercise at. If that's the case, there needs to be a better way of
co-existing with one another. I'd like to think that both types are out
there for the same reason- an escape from the mundane and to enjoy the
beauties of nature. A good workout is a form of meditation for me. The last
thing on my mind is to involve myself with a confrontation. I want my space
and to respect my fellow skiers pursuit of the same. The only thing that
irks me are those that walk on the groomed portion of the trail. Of course,
before I became involved in cross-country, I do remember hiking at Blue
Mounds and being instructed by skiers not to walk in their trails. Know I
understand.

We are dealing with a misunderstanding here as well. I am a classic
skier and am happy to remain so. I am not driven by competition. However,
some are and they need their space as well. Unfortunately, we had a space
crunch. So, where there are shared trails, both users need to respect one
another. We need to play well together.

Remember, don't sweat the small stuff. This qualifies as small stuff.
