Hello Madeline and all,

We also have a greenway here in Minneapolis called the Midtown Greenway.
http://www.midtowngreenway.org/

It's great to be able to preserve some space in the middle of a metropolis.
It takes dedication, vision and hard work to accomplish this.

You can do it Madison.....go for it....set your sights.

Subject: [XC] a vision for Madison area

Grand Forks, ND has a vision - an organization linking all the "silent
sports" that participate in their greenway. Horseback riding, biking,
hiking, bird watching, x-c skiing, etc, etc. Of course, they apparently
have a greenway, an idea which painfully died in the 1970's, when Madison
sprawled across the Beltline. Still, it's neat to see how they're putting
together the "muscle" of the various sports to work with their city parks
org.

Our ski friend Will Gosnold, who some of us met at the Birkie, heads the
organization, which they call GOALS - Greenway Outdoor Aerobic Outdoor
Sports.
