Thanks, Madeline! You just made my day. I've been riding my bike to Elver
and Odana Hills since I figured out how to keep the skis from whapping the
back of my helmet on every pedal stroke. Although it's been cold some
nights, it's been ice-free (except for the parking lots) and I've only
fallen once, on a bike path. It's good to know there are a few kindred
spirits out there. That's part of the reason I recently chose to move to
Madison. Then I discovered Elver, the Tuesday Night races, and lighted
skiing, and have since put more miles on my skis than any other year.
Of course, I now expect snow like this every year.

Subject: [XC] How to Be Cool in Madison
I saw a guy leaving the Jan 30, 2001 Elver Tuesday Night Ski Race on a
bicycle, wobbling and skidding through the snow and ice, in the dark, wind
blowing, skis strapped to his back.
