CROSS COUNTRY SKI TRAIL REPORT
Updated: February 16, 2001
CURRENT WEATHER: Cold. Temps high in the low -mid teens. Chance of flurries.
FORECAST: Temps in teens through Sat. Warming Sun. - Tue - low 20s. Cooling on Wed. - high near 15. Birkie weekend? Too soon to tell. Only slight chance for snow.
ABR TRAILS
Ironwood, MI
More new lake effect snow. All skate lanes and tracks regroomed on 2/13. Conditions: Excellent. Total snow base on trails: 34".
*AFTERHOURS SKI TRAIL - Brule River State Forest
Brule, WI
Trail conditions on the Brule River State Forest's Afterhours Ski Trail are excellent. The trail was groomed on 2/13 after receiving 5 inches of fresh snow. The base depth varies from 10 to 20 inches. The whole trail is groomed for classical and skate skiing.

ASHLAND SKI TRAIL
Ashland, WI
Groomed on 2/13. Conditions: Excellent.
BALSAM BRANCH CROSS COUNTRY SKI TRAILS

Groomed on 2/13. Conditions: Excellent.
*BEAVER BROOK SKI TRAIL
Spooner, WI
Skied in. Should be regroomed by the weekend.
Note: Due to erosion from logging, this ski area will have minimum grooming for classic skiing. Ski joring, backcountry skiing and snowshoeing are permitted, but please respect the tracks.
BLUE HILLS TRAIL
Bruce, WI
After 4" of additional snow the entire trail will be regroomed on 2/11 and 2/12.

Groomed on 2/14. Conditions: Very good.

Groomed on 2/13 after about 5" of new snow. Some trails closed due to fallen trees from windstorms earlier this year. Conditions: Good to Excellent .

Snow again this week. We had about five inches of dry, fluffy stuff on Monday. All trails have been groomed and track set. Base is excellent,
tracks straight and firm.

SISTER'S FARM TRAILS
The east side trails were groomed for dual technique on the morning of February 10. Conditions were excellent for striding and somewhat narrow but good for skating. The west side trails were groomed for striding only between rounds of the Wednesday-Friday storm. There were about 2 inches of skied-in snow in the tracks and some drifting in open areas. Overall, very good conditions on this portion of the trail.

TELEMARK SKI TRAILS

2/14 - XC trails open: 16 - Total kilometers: 58 - New snow: 5"
Packed base: 12" 16" - Track set: 58 K - skate groomed: 46K
Trail surface conditions: Solid, excellent throughout.
A shuttle service is available leaving Telemark at 11:00am. on Saturday morning, and arriving at 00 at 11:30. The driver waits until 11:45 before heading back up to Telemark.

The Totagatic was groomed and tracked on Tuesday, Feb. 13 and is in excellent condition though the deer have begun to use the track now that the snow in the woods is deeper.

Groomed last on sat 2/3...excellent condition.... track set with "New Evolution/Best Line track setter" behind 4 foot Tidd Tech... 40"+ of snow in
the woods unpacked....Trail has 15-20" base.

*WOLVERINE NORDIC

Groomed on 2/16. 17km groomed for skating and striding with a hard base and firm tracks. Grooming is done on an as needed basis. Tracks may be drifted in, but will be reset on Saturday. Conditions: Excellent.
