CROSS COUNTRY SKI TRAIL REPORT
March 2, 2001
CURRENT WEATHER: Sunny.Temps up to about 39F.
FORECAST: Unseasonbly warm through the weekend. Temps high 32-35F. No snow expected.
Note: With the spring like temperatures, conditions will vary considerably depending on the time of day. It might be best to ski early in the day. Tracks may icy and skating lanes could be soft.
ABR TRAILS
Ironwood, MI
Freshly groomed and all tracks were reset on 2/27. Conditions: Excellent.
AFTERHOURS SKI TRAIL - Brule River State Forest
Brule, WI
As of 1:00 PM, today (Feb 28th) the Afterhours Ski Trail on the Brule River State Forest is in absolutely superb condition. It doesn't get any better than this!!! Track was layed in a way to accomidate the River View Loppet Ski Race this Saturday.
AMERICAN BIRKEBEINER TRAIL
Cable/Seeley/Hayward, WI
Groomed on 2/25 after almost a foot of new snow. Conditions: Excellent.
ASHLAND SKI TRAIL
Ashland, WI
Groomed on 2/25. Conditions: Excellent.
BALSAM BRANCH CROSS COUNTRY SKI TRAILS

Groomed on 2/13. Conditions: Excellent.
BEAVER BROOK SKI TRAIL
Spooner, WI
To be groomed on 3/2. Conditions: Should be Good.
Note: Due to erosion from logging, this ski area will have minimum grooming for classic skiing. Ski jouring, backcountry skiing and
snowshoeing are permited, but please respect the tracks.
BLUE HILLS TRAIL
Bruce, WI
Conditions for skating were very good to excellent as of Thursday, March 1 on the EastSideTrail, and excellent on the WestSideTrail. Temperatures reached the mid to upper thirties, clouds prevailed, and sticky snow was noted only on a few sun-exposed hills. Most areas had a creamy surface that provided great edge control and very good glide. The striding track is in good shape on both the East and
WestSideTrails, although a bit icy in some areas.

TELEMARK SKI TRAILS

3/2 - XC trails open: 16 - Total kilometers: 58 - New snow: 5" Packed base: 12" 16" - Trackset: 58 K - kate groomed: 46K Trail surface conditions: Solid, excellent throughout.
A shuttle service is available leaving Telemark at 11:00am. on Saturday morning, and arriving at 00 at 11:30. The driver waits until 11:45
before heading back up to Telemark.

Uller trails groomed wed 2-28-01.... 30K tracked set in 6" of fresh powder.... 24" trail base on trail and 44" in the deep woods....Groomed with Gyro level drag and 4 foot Tidd Tech.... Trail 6+ feet wide on steep hills... Packed Powder surface...Best skiing in this excellent year of BIG snow...20+ feet of snowfall so far this year...Start at Weber lake park by White Cap mountain and check out the "way cool" snow caves under the large windthrown trees in the Penokee Range.
