CROSS COUNTRY SKI  TRAIL REPORT
                                                
December 24, 2001

Merry Christmas


GENERAL CONDITIONS: Temperatures high in mid teens. New snow about 2" with substantial snowfall in Ironwood area.  

Lake Skiing  
Many smaller lakes in the area may be skiable. Check with locals for ice conditions.

ABR Trails, Ironwood, MI
15-18 inches in the last 24 hours. We have been out most of last night and then again early this morning grooming. the Pisten bully was owertilling on the skate Lanes. All trails have been re-groomed this morning and we are resetting tracks now.  Continued lake effect SNOW is in the forecast. We will be open 9 AM -4 PM Christmas Eve and will resume normal hours Christams Day 9 AM to 6 PM.   

Telemark, Cable
New Snow: 2"  Surface snow: 0 - 3 inches
KM Open: 25 KM  Trackset: 0 KM Skate Groomed:  Telemark's cross country ski trails have been rolled, but not groomed or tracked. Most trails are now open.

Blue Hills Trail, Bruce  
Saturday's snowfall (December 22) produced two to three inches of heavy, wet snow.        Temperatures fell overnight, light snow fell December 23, and overall this      provided fairly decent striding on 2 to 4 inches of snow on untouched trails.  More snow is needed before grooming can begin.  

Wolverine Nordic Trails, Ironwood, MI  
7 km groomed for skating.  Expecting additional 7 km open tomorrow.  Snow fall total from this storm expected to reach 30 in by 12-26-01.  We will set classical tracks as soon a possible.  Entire trail system expected to be open this weekend.
