ABR TRAILS

Ironwood, MI
2/27 - New snow freshly groomed ..it doesn't get any better. Don't put your skis away after the Birkie the skiing will be good in Big Snow Country for another month!
Conditions: Excellent, we regroomed all trails again this morning. We took the Pisten Bully out for 2 laps to firm things up, Skating and striding was firm today despite the new snow.


AFTERHOURS CROSS COUNTRY SKI TRAIL/BRULE RIVER STATE FOREST

2/27 - The trail is in its best shape this season - Excellent! Lots of fresh snow, about two feet in the last week, was packed as it fell and it has been thoroughly groomed to get the base firm for this Saturday's Riverview Loppet. For more information about the race call 715-363-2507.
The trail will be closed to non-racers on Saturday morning. Immediately following the race the trail will be re-groomed to the non-race configuration and by early Saturday afternoon it should be in outstanding condition.


AMERICAN BIRKEBEINER TRAIL

On 2/25 the trail was groomed from the start area to Mosquito Brook. The trail has been groomed with the Pisten Bully for both skating and classical skiing. Last night (2/25) we received another one to two inches of snow. The next grooming will occur when we have three inches of snow on the trail or we will be grooming the trail for the weekend, whichever comes first. For the next grooming the Pisten Bully will head north first and groom from "OO" to McNaught Rd. They will then head south from "OO". The trail will be groomed for freestyle and classic skiing again.

BEAVER BROOK SKI TRAIL

Substantianal snowfall has resulted in a large number of trees hanging over the trail making it impassable for grooming. Once the trees are removed the trail will be groomed.

BLUE HILLS TRAIL

2/27 - All of the WestSide and about of the EastSideTrail were tracked for skating & striding with a Tidd Tech Monday, Feb. 25. The remainder of the EastSide was groomed Tuesday (Feb. 26) -- including setting a track for all but the two most distant loops of the EastSideTrail. With light snow Sunday and again Tuesday, this provided excellent skiing today (Wednesday, Feb. 27) with a firm base, sunny skies and temperatures in the teens. Best conditions of the winter.

Rolled and packed 2/27/02. Only Loop A of the Teuton trail has been tracked. Grooming equipment has suffered a breakdown and repairs are hoped to be done Friday. Grooming/tracking to continue for Saturday, 3/2/02. 16" base.

FYI - no ski trail pass is required at Pattison or Amnicon Falls. A vehicle admission sticker is required at all times to enter the park.

TELEMARK SKI TRAILS

Surface snow: 9 - 11 inches Approximately 50 KM of the Telemark/North End/Kortelopet 65 KM trail system have been groomed for skating. This includes the Birkebeiner Loops, Tony
Wise Trail, John Bauer Trail (to Kortelopet split), Kortelopet Trail, Berard Connection, North End Trail, Sven Wiik, Caldwell and Marty Hall World Cup trails. Approximately 50 KM of classical tracks have been set on the Birkebeiner Loops, Tony Wise Trail, John Bauer Trail (to Kortelopet split), Kortelopet Trail, Berard Connection, North End Trail, Sven Wiik, Caldwell and Marty Hall World Cup trails.

Sixteen inches of new snow have fallen in the last week. Trails and tracks
are in excellent condition. All trails groomed 2/28. Birkie 7km and North End Trail to B Cutoff groomed on 3/1.
 

TIMBERLAND HILLS SKI TRAILS

Excellent conditions, the best of the year. Not all of the trails have been groomed yet because of overhanging trees, but the rest of the system is scheduled to be groomed on Thursday 2-28. Expect excellent conditions on the entire system once it is groomed. Right now several kilometers have been groomed and are a nice hardpack.

TIMM'S HILL/HIGHPOINT SKI TRAILS
