Just a reminder of the club meeting Monday night at Shorewood. It will be a potluck. We'll have some brief presentations, nominate and elect club officers, honor our Birkie champs, and have a few raffle prizes.

Madison Nordic Ski Club Board Meeting - Minutes
March 6, 2002 7pm
Met at Michael Cockrem�s House, graciously hosted.

Did the newsletter thing (fold, label, staple, stamp). Another show stopper from Kay.
- Voted to support Governor Dodge Groomer fundraising up to $350.00 in matching funds for member donations.
- Discussed Birkie award winners. Club Birkie champs: Tom Kaufman and JoEllen Torresani. Korte champs: Kyle Adkins and Grit Riley.
- Voted to table discussion of hosting a high school race, needing more specifics. Also proposed supporting the race at another, snowier, location.
- Voted to pay $200.00 of the $500.00 buffet bill for the social at the Telemark Rendezvous. MNSC was the host of this event and MNPLS picked up the rest of the bill since they ate most of it! Bills to be sent to participants for any other outstanding costs.
- Voted $100.00 toward purchase of traveling Wisconsin High School male and female individual champions. Don F will present to other HS coaches.
- Voted $100.00 toward refreshments for summer junior workouts.
- Discussed trips at length and decided to focus on non-race trips and to keep on trying with Demo-days. Keep the Nordic Rendezvous, and try to add a trip to BOOK Across the BAY to lighten up things.
- Discussed summer, fall and winter clinics. Willi to co-ordinate. Decided to pursue the women only clinic again.
The Board members present formed the 2002/3 MNSC Board Member nominating
committee. The following candidates are nominated for election at
the March 11, 2002 club meeting at Shorewood. New Board Member Nominees
are designated with an asterisk. Additional candidates can be nominated
from the floor at the March 11th club meeting.
