Here's a good activity for developing upper body strength for skiiers --
pulling weeds!

Come and help pull garlic mustard before the seeds mature at Brooklyn
Wildlife Area (a great place to ski as well as hike), south of Madison.
This is a section of the Ice Age Trail.

When: Wednesday, July 26 -- meet at 5:30 p.m.

Directions: Take cty hwy D (Fish Hatchery Rd.) south of Madison. Follow
the right angle turns west and south (stair step turns). You are getting
close after you pass cty rd A heading west and Bellbrook Rd heading east,
then you pass Edgehill Rd. (gravel). There are signs where the trail
crosses the road. Pull into the driveway at 395 cty hwy D -- there's a low
white shed and a one-story white house -- also look for a red Tahoe
vehicle, which will be there at the beginning of the work party. We may
move to work on another section of the trail depending on how many people
show up. It's about a 15 - 20 minute drive from the south beltline.

Bring:
bug repellent
gloves
long sleeves and pants
desire for rugged work
simple snack to share for afterwards
