Anyone interested in skiing the best (and only) freestyle marathon in the East? The Rangeley Lakes Loppet would be the one! March 1, 2003. Rangeley Lakes, Maine is emerging as the finest trail system in the east, with 75km of pristinely groomed trails, all underused and very beautiful. We ski from November until mid-April on perfect conditions. Lots of good hills and spectacular views. Our race is quite low-key by comparison to your Birkie (only 300-500 participants). We offer gourmet food stops every 5k along the beautiful 50k route, in case you get hungry and tired! I'll be happy to send a brochure and entry form to anyone interested.
