CROSS COUNTRY SKI TRAIL REPORT
December 21, 2002
Light snow falling and temps dropping. Still not enough snow to groom. Lake skiing was great and should come back now that temps have dropped and a little more snow is falling.
ABR Trails, Ironwood, MI - Good news! We have some good-very good skiing today. I am just coming in from a ski. The cold overnight temps and the new snow groomed up well and is very skiable. We had the Sherpa and groomer out which weighs in at about 1500 pounds this groomer did not sink through the base at all. We have 3 wet spots along the trails by the River, but they should freeze up today and they can be skied around. The skate lanes were groomed except Sulo's and the classic tracks were not reset today, they have an inch of new snow in them which skied in OK. The diagonal only trails are good-fair since they don't have the base that the wider trails have.
12/21 Sat AM
Another inch or so of snow overnight, we had a good day of skiing yesterday; the trails are doing well with the new snow and cool temps. The cold overnight temps and the new snow groomed up well and is very skiable. The skate lanes were completely groomed including Sulo's. Classic tracks were not reset today, they have an inch of new snow in them which skied in OK. There are some wind blown tracks
