Well, there's an honest inch of high-moisture-content snow on the pond at Odana that's suitable for some classic skiing. There's not enough of a snow-ice bond yet, so skating gets to be a little awkward unless it's done very gingerly. I used poles with rollerski ferrules, for a bit more purchase when double-poling. January 5th and my second time on snow...hardly an impressive training log...
