ILLINOIS RACES -- SKI TODAY, GONE TOMORROW

Jim Heil and Greg Roll are ready to put on races in Illinois this weekend if
the snow comes in the depths predicted. As we all know, we'll believe it
when it actually happens.

Tentatively, the CRYSTAL LAKE CLASSIC 10K would be Saturday morning at 9 at
Veterans Acres in Crystal Lake. It would be classic only and would not be
groomed.
There also would be a 5K non-competitive tour. Jim Heil can be reached at
Crystal Lake Ski and Bike -- 815-455-5450.

And equally tentatively, the ISLAND LOPPET would be a 12K freestyle on Sunday
morning at 9, with a groomed four-loop layout at the golf course in Blue
Island. Here is Greg Roll's brief description of the potential race:
" If we get the snow, we'll put on a race Sunday, 9:00 am, @ the Blue Island
Golf Course, 123rd street, a half mile east of Kedzie Avenue. It would be a
12k, with a fifteen dollar entrance fee. Awards for 10-year age brackets and
top three male/female. No frills race; proceeds will be going to local
charity. Email me for snow updates! Pray for snow and spread the word!"

This is just to let you know these races are a possibility this weekend with
the 3-6 inch forecast in the Chicago area.
