I know some of you are on Greg's and Mark's mailing lists, but here is the
definitive NO RACE notice. needless to say, Crystal Lake didn't happen
either. Thanks to all who tried to put on these events. What a bummer.
BLUE ISLAND REPORT:
Hey everyone,
I am sorry to say that this long-awaited 'snowstorm' turned out only to
spit enough snow to make things slippery. We have, at best, a half inch;
everything passed to the south of us and we barely caught the tail-end. So
the race on Sunday isn't going to happen. I'm sorry.

JOLIET REPORT:
Well the groomers were out at 7am this morning & report that we do not have
sufficient snow to groom. The main problem is the texture. The snow
started out wet & has turned to powder over night. It looks like we got
close to 4 inches but the recent addition of gravel on the trail by the Park
District requires additional snow before we would be happy with conditions.
So no race for us.
Good luck to all who are going up for the Birkie. Maybe next year for me.
We will be out with the classic skis this afternoon at Pilcher Park
