Thanks for the explanation,

I have a server internally that rsyncs from the sourceforge sites for the yum and release repositoriee for the purpose of our internal installations, and we have kickstart images that do our standard xCAT/centos images which uses the yum repo, and that is how I noticed.

I guess for this case it doesn't matter as it is a test cluster, so I will continue to play anyway ;)

Arif,

We had an error in our xcat build script that resulted in
http://xcat.sourceforge.net/yum/2.6/xcat-core/ (which is linked from
http://xcat.sourceforge.net/yum/xcat-core/) being updated with the 2.6.6
rpms when it shouldn't have been. (The 2.6.2 tarball is still correct.)
For reasons too difficult to explain here, it would be complicated to get
the yum repo back to the 2.6.2 version. So for now, I put a note on the
download page suggesting that people use the tarball if they want 2.6.2.
We plan to release 2.6.6 next friday (8/26), and the build that is out
there is very close to what will be released. I hope this doesn't cause
you too many problems.

BTW, I might as well explain now why we are skipping from 2.6.2 to 2.6.6,
since many people will likely wonder: we have been planning this release
for a while, because it includes support for a significant new server
(p775). In the p775 hardware announcement we wanted to be able to specify
the specific xcat version that would support it, so we picked a version
number that we were sure we wouldn't overrun with maintenance releases
since 2.6.0.

also to point out

http://xcat.sourceforge.net/yum/2.6/xcat-core/

has also got 2.6.6 rpms, and there is a tarball of xcat-core-2.6.6 as
well in the same directory i.e. http://xcat.sourceforge.net/yum/2.6

That is why I questioned it, usually this would contain the stable
relases and not the snapshot/dev releases? or am I wrong here?

Hi list,

I have just seen that since last night the 2.6.6 has been pushed to
the yum
repo, is that right, and is that indeed being released soon?
