We don't formally support Redhat 6.1 yet but have done enough testing that
I don't think that is your problem.
service xcatd stop   and ps -ef | grep xcatd      kill any processes that
did  not stop
service xcatd start
run makedns -n

Also check your etc resolv.conf to make sure your nameserver is your
Management node and it is searching your domain as defined in the site
table.

If still problems check the /etc/named.conf file and also the contents
of /var/named directory.  Did *.jnl files get generated.  Make sure the
files and directory are owned by named and group named.

Hi ALL,

installed latest release 2.6.9 on RHELS6.1.
got errors running makedns.

n3: Error: Unable to find zone to hold n3
n3: Error: Unable to find zone to hold n3
n4: Error: Unable to find zone to hold n4
n4: Error: Unable to find zone to hold n4

checked all settings, can't understand where I did mistake.

comments:
- bind-chroot removed
- resolve.conf contains only mn node as nameserver
