You may want to look at /install/autoinst/<nodename> particularly in the
%post section to see if anything looks dubious for your environment. The
only piece that comes in mind that could be problematic is the 'updateflag'
bit.
On the xcat server, ps axf and see if the install monitor process has any
children or shows up odd..
