That depends, compute nodes can be NAT'd to the outside world (I've run
systems where that was necessary because of software being run, either
to connect to external SQL DB's or license servers).

Still, I do agree it makes sense to remove the public ones as (here at
least) we have our own mirror of the repos on the management node so we
don't incur any bandwidth charges for hitting external ones.
