First make sure all the rpms got updated correctly. You might have a mismatch of xCAT rpms. rpm -qa | grep xCAT. Make sure they are all 2.6.x
The second problems, we have seen, is xcatd not stopping fully during the upgrade, so not picking up the correct libraries. service xcatd stop ps -ef | grep xcatd kill -9 any lingering xcatd processes service xcatd start.
