Thanks Chris, I was actually one "dot version" off, it's 5.3, not 5.2. However the OS cannot be upgraded right now as a slew of software has been verified to work on this version. If it comes down to it and I am unable to get it to work correctly, a work-around via "ntpdate" or "hwclock --hwtosys" would be a better option than changing the OS version.
Vulnerabilities are not an issue, this cluster cannot be accessed from the outside.
