I guess the problem is that the packages perl-Socket6 and perl-IO-Socket-INET6 are installed on the MN however the IPv6 is disabled on the MN. Could you try to remove the packages perl-Socket6 and perl-IO-Socket-INET6 from MN and then restart xcatd to see if helps.
The patch you attached does seem reasonable in some cases, we need to have some discussion in the team to see if should generalize the code into all Linux distributions or use some other options. Just wondering whether this patch needs to be conditional on SLES, does xcatd not fail on RHEL/CentOS/SL systems with IPv6 disabled? cheers, Chris -- Christopher Samuel Senior Systems Administrator VLSCI - Victorian Life Sciences Computation Initiative Email: [email protected] Phone: +61 (0)3 903 55545 http://www.vlsci.org.au/ http://twitter.com/vlsci ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Keep yourself connected to Go Parallel: DESIGN Expert tips on starting your parallel project right. http://goparallel.sourceforge.net/ _______________________________________________ xCAT-user mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/xcat-user
