HI, The syslog on all the compute nodes is configured by xCAT to be redirected to management node, if you would like to stop the syslog redirection, you could login the compute node, remove the line "*.* @<MN_IP>" from the syslog configuration file, /etc/rsyslog.conf for RHEL 6.x and /etc/syslog-ng/syslog-ng.conf for SLES 11.x, and then restart syslog service.
You are seeing these syslog entries on the terminal, I guess your syslog on
the management node is configured to log the syslog entries with specific
facility(kernel in your case). You can check if the "kern.* /dev/console"
in /etc/rsyslog.conf on RHEL or "log { source(src); filter(f_console);
destination(console); };" in /etc/syslog-ng/syslog-ng.conf on SLES is
enabled, if yes, comment out the line and restart syslog service.
