Hi

After working with Jarrod, we found the following :

1) my /etc/hosts had the following entries:

1.1.1.1 node1-internal node1

So, bmcsetup was failed since he was looking for node1 , he did not
know who is node1-internal,
After switching the entries in /etc/hosts to:
1.1.1.1 node1 node1-internal

   Bmcsetup success.

2) Since i am using the IMM port in the Server - i have to define dedicate
bmc port and not shared so i need to define :
     ipmi.bmcport=1

Regards

Try this link for the Best Recipe . Click on x3550M4 and there should be a
txt file for cmos settings. Your nodehm settings look good. I suspect that
your cmos settings my need adjustment.

You can set them manually or just use asu and something like the
following:

UEFI Boot/SOL Example:

loaddefault BootOrder
loaddefault uEFI
set Processors.Hyper-Threading Disable
set BootOrder.BootOrder "Legacy Only=PXE Network=Hard Disk 0"
set DevicesandIOPorts.Com1FlowControl Hardware
set DevicesandIOPorts.Com1TerminalEmulation VT100
set DevicesandIOPorts.Com1ActiveAfterBoot Enable
set DevicesandIOPorts.SerialPortSharing Enable
set DevicesandIOPorts.SerialPortAccessMode Dedicated
set DevicesandIOPorts.RemoteConsole Enable
set DevicesandIOPorts.Slot1PCIeSpeed Gen3
set DevicesandIOPorts.Slot2PCIeSpeed Gen3
set DevicesandIOPorts.Slot3PCIeSpeed Gen3

Legacy Boot/Physical Serial:

loaddefault BootOrder
loaddefault uEFI
set Processors.Hyper-Threading Disable
set BootOrder.BootOrder "Legacy Only=PXE Network=Hard Disk 0"
set DevicesandIOPorts.Com1FlowControl Hardware
set DevicesandIOPorts.Com1TerminalEmulation VT100
set DevicesandIOPorts.Com1ActiveAfterBoot Enable
set DevicesandIOPorts.RemoteConsole Enable
set DevicesandIOPorts.Slot1PCIeSpeed Gen3
set DevicesandIOPorts.Slot2PCIeSpeed Gen3
set DevicesandIOPorts.Slot3PCIeSpeed Gen3

Subject: [xcat-user] x3550M4 settting

Hi All

I am installing xcat 2.7.6 on RHEL 5.7 x86_64.
I have setup everything ok (i hope), but i have some questions:
1) What should be the IMM setup of the x3550M4 for remote console
redirection ?

2) When i run the rcons command - i get all the time messages like:
   [root@gpfs-repo /]# rcons node10
    [Enter `^Ec?' for help]
    Info: SOL payload already de-activated
    Info: SOL payload disabled
    Info: SOL payload already de-activated
    Info: SOL payload disabled
    [...]

3) getmac <node> return me:
   root@gpfs-repo /]# getmacs node10
node10: Error: Unable to identify plugin for this command, check
relevant tables: nodehm.getmac,mgt;nodehm.mgt

Here are the tables i have setup (I am not using named on the xcat - since
i will use the customer dns)
