It's fine to use 'confignics -s' to set the interface which used as installnic. In the latest fix of confignics that 'confignics -s' will try to set 'installnic' from dhcp to static (you don't need to specify the parameters for installnic). But for the version in 2.8.2 the code logic for installnic is same as second adapter.
xCAT does not have obvious trend to replace hardeths right now, but mostly the confignis will be used. Unfortunately genimage still seems to need this flag to produce the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 file. Hardeths needs this file to be able to correctly create a static interface file. Am I missing something there? I also found that the "nodebootif" option in osimage was what I was looking for to give me the missing "-i" flag. Thoughts? Is there a way to properly get the needed /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 file into the image without using the "-i" flag? Or a way to get hardeths to cooperate when the ifcfg-eth0 file isn't there?
