Hello,

I installed the mgmt node with SLES 11 SP2 (I selected to only have IP4 support
active - probably a mistake) and then was asked to upgrade to SP3 which I
did... Mgmt node is stable and runs fine...

I'm now seeing weird errors as I'm trying to deploy xCAT v2.8.2:

1) During netbooting for node discovery, everything proceeds OK, until it
says on the discovered node console that it is going to upload discovery data
to the xCAT server - I then see this error which just repeats forever:

/bin/doxcat: line 204: 1135 Terminated dhclient -6 -pf
/var/run/dhclient6.$bootnic.pid $bootnic -lf
/var/lib/dhclient/dhclient6.leases

Unrecognized Directive - will retry in 120 sec

Since I'm seeing -6 and dhclient6 errors here, I'm guessing my lack of ip6
support on the mgmt node is the issue - anyway to config /bin/doxcat and
dhclient scripts to use ip4 instead of ip6 or is my only alternative to do a
fresh install SLES 11 SP3 with ip6 support turned on ?

2) After running makeconservercf, and conserver turns on I see the
following error for every node I've got defined in xCAT tables at about at a 5
sec interval in syslog:

xCAT: xcatd: ipmi plugin bug, pid ......., process description: 'xCATd SSL:
getipmicons to n01 for root@localhost: ipmi instance' with error 'Can't call
method "sockopt" on an undefined value at /opt/xcat/lib/perl/xCAT/IPMI.pm line
137, <$sysctl> line1.' While trying to fulfill request for the following
nodes: n01

Don't know if this is related to the lack of ip6 support, or if I'm missing a
prereq rpm / header file ? I installed xcat using "zypper install xCAT" after
creating static xCAT repositories of the latest xcat-dep (10/23/2013) and
v2.8.2 xcat-core sources...

Any help / insights would be greatly appreciated. I'm prepared to do a fresh
o/s install, but if there are easier fixes I'd gladly pursue them instead...

Dave
