Yup that's what I was missing. Adding that to the netdrivers line resolved the issue.

Thanks!

I assume your followed the doc http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/xcat/index.php?title=Using_Linux_Driver_Update_Disk to use the 'driver injection' feature. In the doc, the 'netdrivers' is a necessary attribute to set for xCAT to know which drivers need be injected, but I did not see this attribute in your osimage definition.

Thanks

Subject: [xcat-user] geninitd not rebuilding initrd, not injecting drivers for stateful osimage

Hi all,

I am trying to get some extra network drivers injected into a CentOS 5.4
osimage's initrd.img. I am following the documentation for utilizing
driverupdatesrc to supposedly inject drivers into the initrd.img,
however this is not happening at all with a stateful installation.
During genimage time for a stateless image it works great, but using
geninitrd the initrd is never touched from neither /install path or
/tftpboot/xcat/osimage/<image name> during a "nodeset <node> osimage" or
"geninitrd <image name>" for a stateful image. I am watching timestamps
on the files and have extracted the initrd and modules.cgz to verify the
driver is not getting injected.

Any ideas what I am missing?   Here's the osimage configuration for my
stateful image:

[root@master nodes]# lsdef -t osimage v5.4.8-df-compute
Object name: v5.4.8-df-compute
driverupdatesrc=rpm:/install/custom/install/centos/drivers/ixgbe-3.19.1-1.x86_64.rpm
    groups=all
    imagetype=linux
    nodebootif=eth0
    osarch=x86_64
    osdistroname=centos5.4-kernel_three-seven-one-x86_64
    osname=Linux
    osvers=centos5.4-kernel_three-seven-one
otherpkgdir=/install/post/otherpkgs/centos5.4-kernel_three-seven-one/x86_64/v5.4.8-df-compute
otherpkglist=/install/custom/install/centos/v5.4.8-df-compute.otherpkgs.pkglist
pkgdir=/install/centos5.4-kernel_three-seven-one/x86_64,/install/centos5.4-kernel_three-seven-one/x86_64/updates,/install/centos5.4-kernel_three-seven-one/x86_64/extras
    pkglist=/install/custom/install/centos/v5.4.8-df-compute.pkglist
postbootscripts=setupntp,remoteshell,addsiteyum,otherpkgs,hardeths,postboot-postage.sh
    postscripts=v5.4.8-df-compute.sh
    profile="" />     provmethod=install
    template=/install/custom/install/centos/v5.4.8-df-compute.tmpl

Thanks!
