It looks like it is trying to set gateway info, but missing a gateway
value. Not sure where configfpc gets this value, but first place to look
would be to make sure your network table entries are valid and have a
gateway set:

lsdef -t network -l

Subject:        [xcat-user] Problem with configfpc

Hi All,

we've just got a couple of neXtscale nodes that we are adding to our
idataplex cluster. We've come across an issue when trying to run configfpc
-i eth0 where it won't configure the interface for the FPC module.

The lsdef output for fpc01 is:

 bmc=fpc01

    bmcpassword=PASSW0RD

    bmcusername=USERID

    cons=ipmi

    groups=fpc,all

    ip=172.29.108.10

    mgt=ipmi

    netboot=pxe

    nfsserver=172.30.0.1

    nodetype=fpc

    primarynic=eth0

    switch=bnsw07

    switchport=28

    tftpserver=172.30.0.1

We run the command configfpc -V -i eth0 and the output from this command is
as follows:

Adding route definition for 192.168.0.101/16 to  interface

Found 192.168.0.100 address

Creating default FPC node deffpc with IP 192.168.0.100 for later use with
rspconfig

Found IP 192.168.0.100 and MAC 6C:AE:8B:08:10:5D

Mapped MAC 6C:AE:8B:08:10:5D to node fpc01

Use rspconfig to set the FPC netmask

Running internal xCAT command: rspconfig ...

Use rspconfig to set the FPC gateway

Running internal xCAT command: rspconfig ...

When we try and ping fpc01 to confirm whether the configfpc worked, it
won't respond on the IP we want to set, but will respond to ping
192.168.0.100

In the error logs we see this:

xCAT[11888]: Bad arg length for Socket::inet_ntoa, length is 0, should be 4
at /opt/xcat/lib/perl/xCAT_plugin/ipmi.pm line 710, <$parfd> line 9.

2014-04-30T10:12:37.298275+01:00 mgt01 xCAT[11888]: xcatd: configfpc plugin
bug, pid 11888, process description: 'xCATd SSL: configfpc for
[email protected]: configfpc instance: ipmi instance' with error
'Died at /opt/xcat/sbin/xcatd line 1363, <$parfd> line 9.#012'

We've probably missed something... has anyone got any thoughts, ideas or
suggestions?

Kind Regards,

Josh
