I have put confluent server beta up. It is not rpm installable yet and
most of the planned commands are not written, but the cli console
experience is accessible now for ipmi devices.
Caveat:
-cannot define a node in both conserver and confluent. The two will fight
over the node leading to misery for all. conserver will probably suffer
more misery as confluent will detect conserver stealing console and steal
it back, but conserver will not detect the converse. With that caveat, for
those who want to try it on a test node or two....
Procedure:
1.
easy_install pip
2.
pip install confluent-server
3.
confluent
4.
confetty create /nodes/namenodehere1 hardwaremanagement.method=ipmi
console.method=ipmi secret.hardwaremanagementpassphrase=Passw0rd
secret.hardwaremanagementuser=USERID hardwaremanagement.manager=<bmc ip>
5.
confetty n1
6.
enjoy a console
You can also run confetty without arguments to have an interactive
environment. start /nodes/n1/console/session would take you into n1
console from there. Use commands like cd, ls, cat, etc and use tab
completion pretty freely.
ctrl-e, c, . gets you out.
To remove a node (to make it stop conflicting with conserver):
# confetty rm /nodes/n1
/var/log/confluent/, /var/run/confluent, and /etc/confluent are the system
directiores it currently writes to. If you chown those, a non-root user
can run fine.
