I just tried an xCAT update on my SLES11 machine and ran into all kinds of
problems with zypper and repodata. I finally ended up having to download
the tar files, create local repos, and even go so far as to replace all the
shipped repodata directories by running new createrepo cmds in the correct
locations.
We will need to investigate this.

Hi all,
I'm a complete newbie to xcat. I wanted to install xcat 2.8.4 under
SLES11SP3 and added the downloaded repo file xCAT-core.repo to
"/etc/zypp/repos.d" . When I tried to use zypper
"zypper refresh xcat-2-core"
I got the error
Download (curl) error for
'https://sourceforge.net/projects/xcat/files/yum/2.8/xcat-core/repodata/repo
md.xml':
Error code: Bad URL
Error message: Protocol http not supported or disabled in libcurl
This is possibly due to the fact that curl, when I tried to open
"curl
'https://sourceforge.net/projects/xcat/files/yum/2.8/xcat-core/repodata/repo
md.xml"
Returns not an xml file but only a html redirection to the page itself:
