Your guess is probably right - I just grep'ed through our postscripts
processing code, and we don't reference the site.httpport attribute
anywhere. So, most likely, this is why your postscripts are hanging as
well.
It seems our xCAT support for changing the http port is VERY limited, and
probably in an "experimental" state. I didn't see any documentation, and
I'm pretty sure we have not done any real testing with this. The only
places in the code where I saw any reference to the site.httpport attribute
was in the nodeset code that sets up the bootparams and the /tftpboot
files. It looks like this was put in for a special use case a couple years
ago and never generalized as full function throughout the code.
I think you'll have to be on your own with this one...
We can put a new requirement for non-default HTTP port usage on our xCAT
wishlist for a future release, but it's not something we'll be able to
handle in our upcoming xCAT 2.8.5 GA.

Hey Linda
You are right, as I am away from the xCAT server, I cant attach the file
but you are right,
The url key which appears in the kickstart script doesnt have any port, so
it defaults to 80, if I change that it starts the install but hangs at
postinstall, i dont know which url it takes at postinstall, I have a
feeling it takes default 80. Can you explain the work around a little bit.
I am sure the code fix is required.

In your osimage template file that is used to generate
your /install/autoinst/nodename file, you should have some line that
tells xCAT to set the url. Can you post what that looks like? And
then what the generated line in your autoinst file looks like?
It may be that we need to fix our xCAT Template.pm code that creates
this entry. Also, xCAT can do substitution for table values, so as a
workaround, you can insert the port in the correct place by using:
#TABLE:site:key=httpport:value#

Hi team
How can I change port 80 to anyother port ?
I did try to use httpport key in site, it changes the port but this
change doesnt appear in the autoinst/nodename url.
