Hi Chris,

on one site we're using xcat 2.8.3 with MPSS 3.4. However, it's running on
SLES 11.3, Kernel is 3.0.76-0.11-default.

I'm not really in touch with that system, don't know if my colleague set it
up using xcat functions only or if he did some manual stuff, too. But I
know it's all automated (reboot and reinstall safe). If you're interested
in more details I can point him to this discussion.

Subject: [xcat-user] Supported Intel MPSS stack versions for Xeon Phi?

Hi folks,

We're prepping for a round of OS updates (RHEL 6.6 here we come) and as
part of this I need to work out which MPSS stack to use for our Xeon Phi
cards.

Looking at the xCAT documentation it says:

# In xCAT 2.8.3 and higher release, only MPSS 3.1 and higher version
# is supported.

Now Intel's support for 3.1 ends at the end of this month, so I'm
wondering if folks are using later versions successfully?

In particular I'd love to know is anyone here using MPSS 3.4.x (released
September) with xCAT yet?

All the best,
Chris
