It should behave like ipmitool with lanplus already, if the proper packages are
available.

Can you do:
perl -e 'use Digest::SHA1'
perl -e 'use Digest::HMAC_SHA1'

and see if either of those is missing?

If that works without issue, can you send the info about the 'get channel
authentication capabilities' response?

Subject: [xcat-user] Can not get ipmi commands to work on dell poweredge
servers.

Hi,

I am evaluating using xcat to manage a set of Dell Poweredge servers from a
management node running centos 7 and xcat 2.8.5. I have configured my nodes for
ipmi using nodech <noderange> nodehm.mgt=ipmi and tabdump ipmi shows
reasonable settings. However, when I try to use commands such as rpower <node>
stat , I get the the following error message

 "Error: ipmi plugin bug, pid <PID NUM>, process description: 'xCATd SSL:
rpower to <node> for root@localhost: ipmi instance' with error 'Can't use an
undefined value as an ARRAY reference at /opt/xcat/lib/perl/xCAT/IPMI.pm line
255.' ".

I can make IPMI connections to our clients using the ipmitool-xcat tool with
the -I lanplus option, but not without. When I compare tcpdump data of the
rpower request, I see that it is behaving like the ipmitool without the lanplus
option. How can I configure my xcat management server so that it will send
requests with lanplus enabled ?

many thanks

Brian
