Hi David,

1) I have a POC environment where I have successfully have installed and managed a small cluster using centos7 and rhels7 using xCAT 2.8.5

2) There is support for centos7/rhels7 from Mellanox see link here http://www.mellanox.com/page/products_dyn?product_family=26&mtag=linux_sw_drivers

I'd agree with both sides of the argument, and it really depends on yourself on how much you are happy with new software, and happy to resolve any issues that arise

Hello,

First excuse for my english, it's not my native langage, Ask if not understrandable :)
I'm planning an install of a new cluster.(via a sub-contractor).
I whish to install the new on centos7, because i'd prefer not to start with an os with 3 "year of late".

But sub-contactor tells he can't and whish to stay in CentOS 6 for2 reasons : 1°) Centos 7 too new, with many changes, and they have no tech knowing it, and they hear about no infiniband support problems for example...

2°) They work with xcat, and a first try they had many problems with node deploiement in centos7 (and they succeed if client nodes are centos6).

Could someone guive some news about using xcat2 for manage centos7 clusters ? (i.e. is there really problems ? Are they really blocking or critical problems ?)

I see that there is some issues on sourceforge repo, but many are closed.

Thx for your help,
David
