I can look into it when I get in in about 12 hours. In the mean time, the visibility of that setting is not something I immediately recognize. If xCAT version is new enough, rinv noderange firmware would show uefi version. Is there any hardware configuration between the two? I can't see how that seeing could possibly affect xhpl, thinking it must be correlated to something else...
All that said, I think it may be wise to connect off list, because on the face of it I can't think of a good reason for identically configured nodes to be that far apart in single node xhpl score. I want to help take a deeper dive if you'd like.. Best guess off to of my head would be a uefi mistake leaving cpu at minimum frequency, which would be counteracted if true most easily by ensuring cpufreq driver is loaded... If every boot says that 'PTU is running', this could be happening... Obviously it shouldn't, but can't recall off top of head the timeline for that fix and os cpufreq driver so easily works around it... Most don't notice since usual methods load cpu freq drivers and override uefi state very quickly, but sometimes... Sorry for typos, sent from my mobile device (as an aside, enjoying using a motorola phone months ahead of its release, though getting used to a phablet size is a little weird, but easier typing at least...)
