Hi All,
I am setting up a master node for our cluster that has access to 4 networks
public, data, management, out-of-band
I would like the DNS server to listen on the management network for
requests that could be for resolution of any of the 4 networks available.
I have my networks table populated with the subnets for each and have set
my dnsinterfaces in the site table to the management interface "em3"
my problem appears when i run makedns. None of the entries appear in the
database files and the output from the command is as follows
[root@mgt xcat]# makedns
Handling ms-h25-mgtobm-1g-40 in /etc/hosts.
Handling mgt-data in /etc/hosts.
Handling mgt-pub in /etc/hosts.
Handling localhost in /etc/hosts.
Handling ms-h25-data-10g-42 in /etc/hosts.
Handling localhost in /etc/hosts.
Handling mgt in /etc/hosts.
Handling mgt-obm in /etc/hosts.
Getting reverse zones, this may take several minutes for a large cluster.
Completed getting reverse zones.
Updating zones.
Completed updating zones.
Updating DNS records, this may take several minutes for a large cluster.
Error: No reply received when sending DNS update to zone 10.10.IN-ADDR.ARPA.
Error: No reply received when sending DNS update to zone 30.10.IN-ADDR.ARPA.
Error: No reply received when sending DNS update to zone
56.16.172.IN-ADDR.ARPA.
Error: No reply received when sending DNS update to zone meerkat.mcri.edu.au
.
Error: No reply received when sending DNS update to zone 20.10.IN-ADDR.ARPA.
Completed updating DNS records.
If i change the dnsinterfaces to all of the interfaces in the master node
then all of the errors go away and the command completes quickly.
Is there something i am missing as i am sure you don't have to listen on
all subnets that you want to resolve for.
