We've updated our test system to 2.11.1. I also ran mknb x86_64. I ran
makedhcp -d for the diskless nodes and ran rpower compute boot to start
them on a rediscover and reload.
We use switch discovery and pxe for netboot. Our test system has 10
diskless nodes and the OS is RHEL6.7.
There are two issues and several symptoms, so I'm not sure where to start.
1. I noticed during the discovery that the bmc configuration has errors
reported and that it appears to run more than once, sometimes several
times. The BMC does get configured on most nodes eventually but on one or
two I did a ctrl-c to get it to continue. Part of the errors appears to be
related to running ipmitool on the image. Should ipmitool be part of the
image?
2. During and after the discovery of all or even a few of the nodes, there
appears to be messages in the logs that make it look like discovery is
still running, even though the node finished and rebooted. for example, I
see configure static bmc messages and "Discovery Error: could not find any
node", and others like allowing rspconfig to node08 after node08 has
finished and booted into it's image.
I don't know if there's a common thread in this? I'd be happy to produce
logs or run test scenarios if anyone has any suggestions.
